biOrb filter upgrade Ring

Bio Ring filter upgrade and gravel convertor for ALL biOrb models old and new. All biOrb models use the same filter housing so it fits the full range including Halo's, Lifes, Tube's Flow's and the original BiOrb's. These are to be used in conjunction with the service kit and are not a replacement. 

Our biO-ring filter upgrade kit gives you additional Biological filtration and also allows you to choose a gravel of your choice rather than the Ceramic Media that biOrb supply. We recommend a gravel no smaller than 3mm in size so not suitable for sands or soils. We have run these in a marine tank with coral gravel, a planted tank pea gravel and a cold water keeping the ceramic media.

You will receive either depending on your choice from the menu:

1 x Bio Ring foam ring (no substrate or aquarium supplied that is shown in the picture. These are for illustration only)
or 
1 x Bio Ring foam ring, 1 x Compatible Service Kit Inc English Instructions, 1 x Airstone and 1 x Cleaning Pad (no substrate or aquarium supplied that is shown in the picture. These are for illustration only)

If setting up from scratch: Simply sleeve the biO-ring over the outside of the filter housing prior to adding ceramic media or a gravel of your choice. We recommend a gravel size of 3mm and up. To clean we suggest using your gravel gleaner and push it into the foam to extract any trapped particles. These should be replaced every 12-18 months

Adding to a running aquarium: Simply gravel clean as normal to remove debris from the base of your. Remove the ceramic media to enable you to sleeve the upgrade biO-ring over the outside of the filter housing prior to adding the original ceramic media back or your choice of new gravel. To clean we suggest using your gravel gleaner and push it into the foam to extract any trapped particles. You may want to remove the fish prior to adding the washed clean gravel. These should be replaced every 12-18 months
