Our beneficial bacteria balls are Ideal for treating weekly to help boost your your filter and improve water quality or starting a new filter or aquarium setup. We suggest adding them to the filter where as they break down they release millions of live bacteria and enzymes in to your filter and aquarium to help improve water quality and clarity. Use them as part of your ongoing maintenance to keep a happy and healthy aquarium.

We suggest one ball per 20 litres per week (if you have a 30 litre tank add two balls)
For starting a new filter we would use 2 balls per 20 litres.
You cannot overdose with the balls as they contents are only beneficial substances but we wouldn't advise more than 3 balls per 20 litres.
Please note the filter starter balls contain freshwater bacteria.
